One-day Reversal Patterns

One-day reversal is a candlestick chart pattern implies that momentum of a stock might be reversed during a single trading period. Because the daily chart is viewed the most, it is named "One-day Reversal". Graphs on the right show one example each for reverse-up and reverse-down pattern.

On a revese-up day, stock opens lower and continues to sharply lower. But it closes higher or equals to the opening price, and at or very close to its daily high. Thus it makes a candelstick with long tail. The confirmation to this reverse-up pattern would be: 1) Volume is much greater than its 30-day average volume. 2) On the next trading day, it breaks today's high.

The reverse-down pattern can be defined by the similar rules.

One of the very useful technical indicator to be used in conjuncture with One-day Reversal pattern is the On Balance Volume (OBV) indicator.

Our One-day reversal section will list all stocks that form a possible one-day reversal chart pattern. Along with stocks showing possible bulish or bearish signs calculated by several other technical indicators such as Money Flow, RSI, Rate of Change (ROC) or Stochastics.
